For those of you who don't know where Caroga Lake is, it's in Fulton County New York . Probably the biggest nearby town would be Gloversville, about ten miles away...a beautiful little lake full of Pike. You will never, ever - see me swim in Caroga Lake ...
WOW!!
This is NOT a fish story !
This is a new record Northern Pike in New York .. It was caught on Caroga Lake .
Check this thing out.. The man (in the photos below), was fishing, and caught a 36" Pike.
As he was reeling it in, a 56" - 55 lb Pike tried to eat it !!!!!
He landed them both in the same net. The last picture is unreal.
Now this is a FISH!! That's how they grow them in Caroga
Lake!(East Caroga, NY)
I guess they don't realize...
There are no pike in caroga lake!

That picture has been around for a couple of years. I think I had heard that was from the St. Lawrance river...
This reminds me of the picture of the 10 point that was being dragged around by a mountain lion. I love the way these rumors spread.
That is a heck of a northern though!

Funny story from here at work
About three weeks ago, a fellow here at work goes "Lance, you've got to see this pike my buddies caught last year up in Canada". Instantly, I'm somewhat sceptical, being the cynic I sometimes can be. So he reads me off this email, describing the epic fight, etc. Then he shows me the picture. Same one from this thread. I couldn't help but just start laughing. He gets pretty upset with me, so I fill him in that his friends really got him good, and that the fish in the picture actually came from Scandinavia. I've never seen anyone look so embarrassed.
