treed942000.. :o that is the fattest, shorty kitty I've ever seen. Wow, WTG

28.4 pds worth and tasted great.  Now that I look back, I wish I'd have had her mounted.

Trred942000:   F A T T Y ! !  What a slug. What did she take??

Hey Grump...Take off the gloves, go mano-a-mano.  I didn't think Canadians needed gloves, I thought you were all toughened by the gnarly winters and the fact that you hunt with your bare hands up there. At least that's what we hear in NY... ;D

I was actually spring bass fishing, so she was caught on a Rapala.

Nice cat treed!! 8) How do you clean and cook cats? Up here in Manitoba we can't keep any over 24" but can keep 4 under that length.I catch lots of pigs but wouldn't mind trying to get a little one to try eating . I have never tried em yet. :) how heavy of line were you using for bass awesome fight I bet keep em coming!!!!

Trophy Hunter,

Depends on the size how I clean'em.  That one was skinned, then filleted out, then cut into meal size portions.  If there under 2 pounds, they are just skinned and then fried up for eating.  I always skin them before filleting.  To me it's easier and you get more meat.  Some people fillet them like a normal bass or what have ya but the skin tears really easy that way and you end up losing meat.

A couple weeks ago me and a few friends tried eating a couple smaller cats (18-20") and they were quite tastey, ended up starting a fire in a fire pit and cuting the cats stomach open to get the uneatable stuff out then we hung it on a stick pretty high up from the fire for about 3-4 hours after the skin was pretty dry we cut a little slice in the skin and it came right off, and then we just scraped the meat of the bones ( all bones are attached and are pretty big) then we just put the meat in a frying pan with some butter and some batter my buddy made up and i actually kind of like it more then walleye. I always thought that catfish would be on of the last fish i would ever want to try and eat.
