Pouring rain yesterday. Favorite time for F+G to stock ponds.
Drove to my nearby pond and noticed fish rising just off launch
Took out my fly rod ,already attached nymph, and found that I got a hit on every cast. Beautiful 10inch brown trout. Hooked and released a couple dozen after telling the to go to deep water. Stopped by a couple hours later and they had listened and were then rising far out in the pond. Another fly fisherman showed and he was happy to release all of his fish. He wasn't sure about talking to the fish!! I'm sure worm fishermen will soon line the shore with crawler containers and beer cans? This is the first time I've seen chunky browns stocked. Hope they survive long enough to weigh pounds!
