You bet it is. Keeps the brain working and the body moving.

Been tinkering with a spiral lift for the little RBS. Went scrounging at Goodwill for toys with motors and gears. Found these.

Harvested 10 motors 6 gear sets and countless screws and shafts along with battery boxes, switches, wire and lights. Well worth the $10 I donated.
If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

R.I. P. “Chase” you’re a pile of plastic pieces now.

He’ll be smiling when he sees what I made from it.

I was building a flame maple keepsake box in the workshop. This is what happens when a freshly sharpened chisel slips, had three stiches. Nice clean cut.

Never met a woodworker without scars. I certainly have my share.

Any accident that you can walk away from.................

A few stiches is better than losing it of course.
Glad to hear it was only a minor injury.

One of my preliminary tests for employment in my cabinet shop was the ability to count to 10 on your fingers. If you only got to 9…or 8….well……

The spiral lift prototype.

Decided to try another spiral  lift mechanism. Almost moving on to the next BIG RBS.

Yeah! I’m rebuilding the spiral lift to test another design. The next big sculpture will be using 1” glass marbles with copper tracks. The lifter will be the center piece of the round sculpture. The spirals are fussy to make but they’re pretty cool to watch. Positioning  the guide rails , entrance and exit are critical.

I’m learning!

The theme from Mission Impossible is now running through my head Bob.
