11 years ago we had a heavy snow storm for Halloween. We woke up the following morning to 31" of fresh snow. Didnt go to work and spent 1/2 the day digging out.. No power, no internet.
Spent the day plowing with the tractor, running the generator and feeding the wood stove.
We normally get about 12 kids show up for candy since we are very rural, but no kids showed up.
Our town has Trick or Treat scheduled for 6pm to 8pm tonight.
How times have changed.

Halloween in our rural area is never crowded. Last year we had no trick or treaters. This year we had one door knocker -- it was our UPS  delivery driver. He was dressed in his usual brown outfit with a bisquit in his hand for our dog Blue. My wife (Donna) gave him some candy as he continued his nights deliveries.

We are in a gated retirement community now.
So, there aren't any kids trick or treating.
I always liked handing out the candy, so I missed it.
