 Pre 70s it was bait for me , worms , crabs , leeches , grasshoppers, hellgrammites😃

Ok I can think of 2 real lures I always used a Johnson Silver Minnow and any Daredevil Spoons I could get my hands on..   ;)

CP Swing, Red & White Daredevil, Johnson Silver Spoon, Williams Wobbler, Hula Popper
Basically anything I could "borrow" from my father or grandfather.  Like others have said, we mostly used bait.

Thought there was something like a Flatfish called a Lazy Ike but maybe I just dreamed that one up?

Lazy Ike was a good Northern Pike lure. June bug spinner and a yellow sally for walleye, tiny tim for muskie and northerns, williams wabbler was a good bass spoon.
