Thought there was something like a Flatfish called a Lazy Ike but maybe I just dreamed that one up?

Yes the Lazy Ike!!! Pike in Canada loved them!

I was a huge Mepps fan as a kid.....trying to get as many master angler fish as possible!

Silver and black floating Rapala, june bug spinner, and hula popper for me.  My dad loved flatfish and my grandfather mirro lures - I never caught squat on either of them.  I still pull them out from time to time and still nothing - but I'm not very patient fishing with them either.  :-).

I don't know what dates, but I have my dad's old tackle box. In it is flat fish, daredevils, hula poppers, jitter bugs, Johnson silver minnows, and mepps spinners.

Jitterbug and the flatfish on the casting side, good ol' night crawlers or crayfish on the less-involved side

Johnson's weedless minnow
Red and white daredevils
Cleos by the pound
Dozens of Sutton Spoons.

To name a few and there were always a few Jitterbugs in my boxes.

I'm always afraid to use my Dad's stuff because of all the toothy critters where I fish. What really amazes me is how whippy his rods are compared to what I fish with no a days.

Flukeman I don’t use their rods or reels , just some of their lures for stream trout

Pre-70 I was fishing Long Island beaches with my uncle. Sitting on the beach long casting, we used dropper rigs with sandworms or squid.

Was fishing on the bottom with a night crawler in the summer for mainly brook trout in a Massachusetts kettle lake from 1968 to 1971 on a military post (former Ft. Devens). Cast to schools of them in the fall with a nitecrawler, kernel corn, or a fly I tied with yellow thread to imitate some kind of larvae that hung from the Oak trees in the fall.

Lures I used back then were the kastmaster, Al's Goldfish spoon, and Mepps spinner for trout , L & S Mirror lure, rapala, Rebel plug, and jitterbug for bass. The bluegill would hit about anything including crank baits for bass Grove's Pond near Ayer.
