earliest ever recorded was april 4th in 1921. every other april ice out was on the 24th or later and only has gone out in april 23 times in the last 126 yrs.   umm should be soon. if you take a ride to rangely it wont be for nothing you can let us all know too!!

I feel a sick day coming on.........

Our annual trip is exactly 1 month from today, 4 days of trolling, health food, and spring water (right) 

But I do want to experience the ice out blitz, maybe we can caravan up there later this week, sounds like it's getting close!!

Just spoke with a fella from Rangeley. The smelt have not started running yet! It will be a bit longer for the ice to be out enough to fish, although, there are small patches of open water. The fly shop there is selling, pickled smelt with formaldehyde or something?? He didn't like that?? paul
