No takers for last night, so I hung out with my wife and started to celebrate our 34th year of marriage today! I am a very lucky guy, that she is still putting up with me after all the years...

Congrats!

How long does it take to get a permit? Can you show up and get one?

Thank you all, it has been a great 34 years!

As for the night permit, could be all over the place time-wise, but I don't think you can walk in and get it... Try giving them a call and see what they say?

I will do that. One that thing that does not makes sense is you can't use a portable downrigger as they are worried about contamination but an anchor and rope is O.K for a rental boat? Maybe the anchor thing is dated?

I will call tomorrow. Not sure if I'll hit Wachusett or Quabbin first.  Even though they are to listed as a species I had a blast one year reeling a panfish size twister tail jig through a colony of spawning bluegills. The strikes were so vicious they almost pulled the rod out my hand and it was tough reeling the in. Going to bring the fly rod this time.

I personally don't chance sunfish, but the ones on Quabbin do get big... This one tried to eat a 5/8 Jitterbug...
