Stopped to fish on my way home

And after about my 10th cast I reeled in my biggest rainbow this year. It hit an olive bugger dead drifted. I thought I was snagged but after a couple of head shakes I knew I had a nice fish. It put up a heck of a fight in strong current. It was somewhere in the 18 inch range, my net opening is 15, and it felt like an easy 3lbs. Glad I had left my gear in my truck.

It was pretty big, I'd say a size 6 or 8, with a good sized tungsten bead head.  I was fishing an area with really fast water that was maybe ten feet wide so I was almost tenkara fishing.  I was just casting upstream, high sticking it down below me and repeating.

Ironically 6-8 Pat's rubber legs dead drifted have been getting slammed.  Now I'm throwing 3-4" streamers looking for that one huge brown.
