Just fired my motor up today. Don't think it spun a half dozen times before she fired. Good sign.

The "Mac Attack" is home here in my garage.
Hooked up the batteries and plugged in the on-board charger to top them off.
The two for the bow mount were full - the charger LED went right to green.  Awesome!
The one for the main motor was green in like 30 minutes or so.  Trim and tilt to install the transom saver last Fall and the same to remove it today bled it down a little bit.
Double awesome.

Gotta run back out to our place on Erie to get my gear tomorrow.
Stopped there on the way home but I have a 2' snowdrift in front of my storage shed and didn't have a shovel.
I need to get my gear as Jeff wants to hit Lake Ontario out of Olcott Sunday.

While you guys are looking for your eggs, we will be looking for some brown trout.

 ;D

Gonna add a bimini top.
Not an expensive high end top.
Found one on ?Amazon for only $141 that will fit great.
Getting tired of getting heat stroke while trolling for walleye.
And it will provide (some) protection during rain.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Na Bob.
I've been putting off installing some sort of a top since I bought the boat 3 yrs ago.
I burn easily
Real easily.
And in July and August it can real effin hot out there on Erie.
Also, Donna likes to perch fish and prefers the top if it starts to rain.
The top I'm looking at is less than $150.
Compared to the other "junk" I've bought over the years, this top is a drop in the bucket.

I still haven't ordered it yet though.

Yeah, a top is a must if you're gonna put around in frying pan weather. Sunburn is nothing to fool with.

My boat is home. (Thanks for the company Donna.) Got all 5 batteries on charge. Heading back out to the lake tomorrow to shovel the snow drift that resides in front of my shed. I need to bring home some fishing gear and also some boat parts. Gonna pull the wheel bearings, clean, inspect and either repack with grease or replace depending on what I find. Also have to replace the fuel/water separator/filter.

5 batteries! Wow. What do you use to charge them all? I am shopping for an on board charger myself, but at the moment all I have are the two batteries for trolling motor and the cranking battery for the outboard. I had a nice Shumacher, or so I thought it was nice, it failed the end of last season.

Fired my boat up Sunday, ran like a champ. Waiting on a couple pieces to come back from painter. Hopefully on the water soon.

4 are for the Terova Geoff.
The 5th is the main starting battery.

I have a 3 bank on board charger that covers the main battery and 2 of the Terrova batteries.
Added a 2nd on board charger with 2 banks for the other 2 batteries.

The 4 deep storage batteries are wired in series-parallel to give me 24 volts, but also twice the run time.

I fish Lake Erie and it's windy and rough a lot, which chews up battery becuase I need to run the Terrova at a higher setting to stay straight than you would in an inland lake or reservoir.
And when I'm heading into the wind, and/or have the bimini up, it's even worse.

I have the Honda 8hp kicker and when trolling with the wind it does most of the work and ipilot on the Terova needs only to run at low settings to keep us on course.
But against the wind, we need to kick up the Terrova to stay straight.

It works.

I bought 12 new 4' LED light fixtures for the garage and the basement.
One of the 6 packs arrived yesterday.
The other was delayed and is due here Monday.
Got 5 of the 6 hung yesterday.
What a difference from those old 4' florescent tube fixtures.
(Of course 1/2 of the bulbs were shot)
 8)

Went out there today and got the gas filter water separator replaced on the boat.
What a bear to get off.
Had to use an oil filter wrench.
I tried getting it off out at the lake last Fall when I winterized the boat without luck.
So I'm glad that's done.

Also checked the wheel bearings and added some grease to the bearing buddies.
I had figured they would need replacing, but they were perfect.
Good because I have a 1000 mile trip up to Canada in June.
I didn't want trouble.

Then got the cables run for the TrollMaster.
Had to route them through the boat innards.
Jeff helped making it a bit easier.

Then sliced my finger really good.
So I'm taking a break and will have some dinner in 30-40 minutes.
After dinner I'll go back out there to finish the TrollMaster and check trailer tire pressures, spare too.
I also have to go over the rods and make sure everything is good.
Without being able to go fishing today or tomorrow becuase of the high winds, I figured this was a good weekend to get all this work done.

Making progress.
Love working on my boat.

Finished up the TrolMaster. Works sweet and I wire tied everything up real pretty. Made sure none of the wires touch any hot surfaces or will get caught on any linkage moving around under the hood.
