sleeping in my boat in the parking lot at the launch at Oswego.

Thanks Bartman, I've done the same in the past.  They used to let you park a camper in the lot years ago, then they put a stop to that.  So we would just pull the coil wire off and claim we were broke down and waiting for help.  :whistling:

good man jw. Remember to try to release the female trout as the trout are some of the least successful spawners. Keep all the males you want as long as you don't catch 'em all ;)

I would have like to released more of the Steelhead we caught but the guide we went with was so worried about losing a lure he wouldn't let us tighten the drag enough to put adequate pressure on the fish and they were so played out by the time they were boated, coupled with bringing them out of 47 deg. water, release was not an ethical option.

Don't worry, when I'm stream fishing or in my boat it's 100% release on Steelhead and Browns.

Got out for some Bass fishin' with Muskyhunter before the hurricane.  Alot of action, many average fish but this one demanded a picture.  Muskyhunter with a 24.5" Largemouth that measured 18" around, no scale but my estimates put it over 8 lbs. :o

Until the next round...

Nice fish.  According to the calculator at http://www.rodworks.on.ca/records.html, it would be just under 10 lb.  I've seen another calculator like that that let's you pick species...I'm gonna try to dig that up....

OK, here are a few...

http://www.outdoorsite.com/fishingcalc/index.cfm (would make it 9)
http://www.fishdreams.com/calculator.all_species.html (gives 9.9...same as previous post)
http://www.gsmfc.org/sasweb/fishsize.htm (this one is for saltwater fish only, but thought I'd include it...)
http://www.liveleaderboard.com/fish-weight.asp (walleye, pike, bass and bluegill - 9.19 lb)
http://www.iceshanty.com/iceshanty/fish_weight_calculator.php (IceShanty)
http://www.bcfishingreports.com/fish_calculator.html (for steelhead & salmon)
http://www.rodnreel.com/fishcharts/FishCharts.asp (for species around the Gulf Coast - no pike, walleye, etc.)
http://www.bassresource.com/bassfishing/fishcalculator.html (this one has 6 fish types, so may be a bit finer than some of the others - just over 9)

You get the picture...there are many others.  Many of them divide into only 2 types, so I think would be a bit more of a rough calculation.  The ones for walleyes tend to be on the light side for the big fish (either that or everyone who catches 28-30 inch fish are grossly overestimating the weight).

Cool!!  Thanks for the links Thriller!!

There is a weight estimation formula thread going on here, you should add those links to it.

Be it 8 or 10 lbs., either way it was a HAWG of a bass.  Muskyhunter is seriously considering getting a reproduction made.
