That's fine. I am a bitter old man, ya know... ;D

If you're going to talk about a trophy fish like that would be (!!!) at least have something to back it up. It's just not credible.

Looks like with any claim of a big fish, there will almost always be controversy  ;)

Not in my eyes.
"Nearly" ***censored**** does that mean  ???

We're really not trying to give you a hard time, Moose.
But when you make claims of a monster fish you almost landed, it's kind of hard to believe. Haven't you ever heard of anglers making up stories?

If it's not in your hand it doesn't count.

devinman i have heard of fish stores and if it was you telling me of the huge smallie you never landed id prolly not belive you either. im not trying to brag or anything just letting people knwo that there are big fish in the ressie and they do bite! this was the kinda fish memories are made of, landed or not.  and if i landed it, it would have been my first fish on the flyrod.. and deff. my largest freshwater fish  ;D tightlines moose

hey lindz your an honest good guy, im not disputing anything you say i just was wondering why the '69 record is in the book and not the '55 record? either way they came from the same spot so i say we get some bass gear and head to tennessee for a good time with some 10+ pound smallies

Arch, I did not to disput you either, and you opened my eyes to the fact that there was a controversy on the world record -  so I had to find out what it was.  I am all for a Smallie trip  ;D and 10+  -  Ten+  -  Tennessee  -  its in the name   ;D  How could we miss  ;D  ;D

Hope its going well,

nobody ever said there was more then one of them.. it was messin with me and my friends gf.. both baits were 10 feet from one another, i with teh fly rod and a popper fly, and she with a dilly... hits were comming one after another.. hit the fly a few times spit it each time befor i could get a hook up. ripped the hook right outa teh popper.   then went on to the worm, her line was tight and the fish broke surface. when it hit the water the hook up was lost. i was thinking of circle hooks and if used mayeb the fish would have been landed..   belive me or not, thats on you... i was there and i know what happend and what i seen with my eyes.. tightlines moose
