Togue?
« on: May 01, 2005, 10:23 AM »
As I'm not from the eastern U.S., and I've often read the lake trout name "togue", I've wondered how it's pronounced.  Is it pronounced like "toe", as in toga, like "tog you", or like "too"  as in "toog" or "toog you"?  Just curious.......

i've only heard it pronounced like "toag" with an long "O" sound, i've heard other people say "toke"  but i'm not sure what they were talking about.

Like "toga" minus the "a".

Thanks, guys, I sort of figured that's how it was pronounced, but wasn't sure.  Appreciate the responses.  :)
