I was out yesterday and did not see anyone perching in the Michigan city area going out and coming in as far as I could see . They said the last few north blows killed it

Saw two boats head out of MC this morning for perch. I did catch one from the pier. Released to swim another day. (Had to leave pier early due to fireworks set-up. Would be nice if someone would put signs up before I get there in the morning. Not like it was a surprise to the parks dept that we would have to leave. And yes, it was a surprise to me - not from MC and dd not know they were having a show from the pier.)

That is what I am talking about. Were you fishing from the pier or east or west?

hi, i'm retired an I perch fish out of mc just about ever day the weather is ok. this has really been a tough year so far. we've caught quite a few big fish an a whole lot of 4 inchers. seems to be a # of year classes missing. finding # of keepers has been tough too. hopefully it will get better. today we caught 15 in 6 hrs, 2 of us. not good.

30 fish for 2 of us in 7 hours. Most the action was in the last 4 hours or so, once i got things dialed in and figured out.
Another boat i know had 20 for 2, and another boat had 33 for 3.
22-26 f.o.w.,,, moving around was key.

I know that in that past few years once you anchor and try to get on um they are gone . I've found that you have to drift over them bouncing bottom and just keep finding um when they quit bitting and do another drift. Also I've used small jigs vertical jigging the bottom and noticed the size of fish that I've caught are alot better size
