A fisherman was killed in NY yesterday in the Adirondacks. His boat capsized and he wasn't wearing a life vest. The person he was with managed to hang onto the capsized boat and was rescued. Please wear your life vests. The water doesn't take long to cause you to go into hypothermia.

Happened on Garnet Lake Jesse Ackley of Warrensburg NY 19 . Sad sad story. According to the paper they had trouble keeping both of them on the overturned boat so one swam to shore and the other was too tired too hold on any longer.
officials believe the boat was a home made vessel. The moral of the story is always take a
PFD
even when out on an inflatable/canoe /kayak/rowboat you just never know especially this time of year. My condolences to the Ackley family

PFD's..
NEVER
Leave home without one, and its never a bad thing to think up a plan of action in the case something like that does happen. You do it in your home in case of a fire...why not do it in a boat? My condolences to the family

19 year old kid goes out fishing and doesnt come home...
his poor mother.
just think back to when you were 19 and all the crazy things you did, and remember how lucky we all are to still be kicking around. sounds silly but it's true.
