First Open Water fishin
« on: Feb 28, 2012, 09:02 AM »
Hit one of the lakes here to try for some carp yesterday. Fished from 9 Am 'till dark & got the big skunkarooski. Air temp here was 22 degrees in the morning & I guess the water is still to cold for them to be really active. There was still some ice in one of the coves in the morning & a little along the shore line but all was melted by the afternoon.

Rod stand is a Matrix Rod Pod. It is all machined stainless steel & quite expensive. I found that on on the internet for a little less then the price is new. It is very strong & folds very compact to carry & has it's own carry bag.

I doubt that I'll ever use 3 rods for carp but having another rod to fish for pannies or anything else while the carp bite is slow is definately a plus. I should have taken another rod on that trip.
I have had carp hit both rods while fishing alone & it was a Chinese fire drill! I can't imagine having 3 rods get hit at the same time!
