Suburban deer. Out my kitchen window!

That would have been his final resting place if he was in my yard with crossbow

Say goodnight to the NZ season at least in my unit. I had a blast even though I didn’t put anything on the ground! I must be getting old.   ;D

My grandson was in his glory yesterday. He loves processing deer. He did probably 75% of the skinning and butchering. At 8 years old, He is doing great. He said " this is satisfying Papa. I really like doing this".

We got 62 pounds of 80/20 venison/beef fat burger out of that deer.
If anybody has young helpers, post some action shots. I love seeing young people enjoying the sport.

That is awesome. I wish someone would have showed me how to butcher a deer at age 8. I butchered my first at age 62 and learned from reading a book. Finally starting to get good at it and I'll never take one to a butcher again.

Perfect snow. It's amazing how well they show up now. I often wonder how many slipped by when things were brown.

Repairing accident hits we have a safety net really handing out tickets for speeding in a construction zone!

Nice!
I used to love pheasant hunting back in the 60's and 70's.
Then they disapeared around here.
Last time I saw a pheasant was down near the Skyway about 10-12 yrs ago.
I cannot remember the last time I have heard one cackle.
