Title: Opening day: less than a week away
Post by: Fishoninct on Apr 02, 2017, 05:46 AM
Attended the hunting and fishing show in Hartford yesterday.  Found out that CT will be stocking less this year.  I'm so shocked to hear that, not really.  Tax you to death, increase regulations, limit what we can do more than surrounding states, and now stock less.  Too bad they didn't institute the trout stamp and pour all that money into building additional hatchery capacity in the ones already existing in CT.  Do they really wonder why so many people are leaving this state? ???  >:(

If they did a trout stamp that money would be burnt in the general find quickly I bet!  Trout stocking has been down for a few years they just didnt announce it.  The river accross from my house is suppose to be stocked and they have skipped it 4 years in a row.

I was at my grandmother's in MA so I missed out on Opening Day. Bought (and finally printed, they charge an extra buck on convenience fee but I still need to make sure I have ink in the printer? :P) a MA fishing license so I'll be able to fish there.

Sucks that they aren't stocking more trout. Hopefully I'll still manage to land a few rainbows.
