I bought a lure on impulse at Cabelas, it was a topwater black frog......thinking it would be a great lure for topwater fishing. Turns out I was right!

I use a lot of Topwaters, I will try the Skitter Pop again, I think I have one in my box, but it is not Fire Tiger.
I also love the Spit 'n Image topwater in Shad,,, I caught a 22" walleye on it as soon as it hit the water! I was thinking, Wow....this is a nice bass, but why isn't he jumping???? What a riot!

Hard to beat the ole Rebel Pop-R in silver and black.
slaughtered some smallies one year on east grand lake in maine on a rebel popper...we were catching 75 a day for our two week vacation...it was a trip that i will never forget
-
Rattlin Chug Bugs and Torpedos are oldies but goodies.
-
the ZARA SPOOK!!!!!!
-
I like those small buzz baits. I think they are called pond magic or something. It doesnt take much of a retrieve to keep them on the surface, and the smallies love em.

I love the rattlin chugbugs.I have been useing them for 20 plus years with great sucsess.MY favorite color was the old style perch colored one. I do well on the white color one also.the new perch color works good too.I would love to find a few of the old colored pech chugbugs. Why dose things always change?THAT PERCH COLOR worked great then they go and change it.DOSE any of you guys remember the PERCH COLORED WOUNDED SPOOKS?Was the best top water lure in my eyes back in the days.I still have 2 of them.I wont use them because im afraid of loosing them. They stopped making them too.I love the black JITTERBUG after dark.ITS a killer.Red and white is another good one.I took more bass after dark on a JITTERBUG than any other lure.COACHDOG HULLA POPPER WORKS GOOD FOR ME TOO.good luck.
-
Going out in an hour with the Pop R... ;D
-
Good luck brother.Knock em dead.
-
I have tried a gun fish this year by lucky craft...cool lure...I also like a manns 1 minus...cast and sit...let the chop do the work
-
the lucky craft sammy 100 is one of the best smallmouth topwaters made.
-
I've got a shopping list going! Keep it going, what is your favorite top water?
-
Any of you guys use the TINY TORPEDOS?I have two in my box but cant every remember using them.I like the WOODCHOPPERS.They are about 3 times the size of a TINY TORPEDO.I read a lot about them and seen tons of videos.I got to give them a try this year.I live 10 minutes from the SUSKY and have a lot of fun on the smallies on topwater.LATE JUNE the fun starts.[IF THE RIVER IS,NT TOOOOOOOOO HIGH].
-
I like tiny torpedos for smallies in current, prefer a walk-the-dog type lure in still waters.
-
I'm a big fan of the headon Zara spook and the live target walking frog
-
Those life target froggs are pricey but, they work.My son BIRDMAN swears by them.
-
It's those ultra realistic paint jobs that get the job done.
-
I do like to change up my top water arsenal, but my absolute favorite is the Heddon Spittin'' Image. I really like the way it can practically jump out of the water with the right wrist action and land softly, with hardly any water displacement. I have caught more bass on that than any other top water lure (so far). I even caught a nice walleye on it one night!
Still making my list, so keep those favorites coming!
-
buzzbait love them
