Title: Stinky smallies

We have some land that a creek goes through some of our land near Faith, SD that has bass that do not smell good at all. Is this normal I have kept some but wonder if I should waste the time to cook them. What do you guys think?

What do you guys think?   Not sure about bass...to me I'm not a big bass fan but this doesn't sound right with cold water. Maybe the forage is not good...you are what you eat...eh!

Is the water stained in color?

Reddish brown?

Well the bass will take on coloration and smell of their aquatic surroundings and feed, so I wondered if the water was stained boggy water.

Maybe the food source?

Maybe the food. Other fish in ther creek are blue gill and bullhead but I dont recall them smelling bad.
