Well, I use braid for my baitcaster for Bass and pike. I use mono with spinning gear for fishing bass with rapalas or soft plastics. I use leadcore line for trolling walleyes & pike with a 3 -6 foot mono leader (although I will be trying a fluorocarbon leader this year as well)

Trilene XL work for me
4# for trout
17# for bass

14# Vanish ice fishing
If the rule is 5 fish or 5 pounds, what if the 5th fish weighs 5 pounds?

I run Wire, leadcore, mono and Super lines. It depends on what I'm fishing with and for.
