there are just to many options to choose from but the first thing you need to do if fugure out how much you want to spend because you can get a good set-up for around $100 but if you want a great set-up you could spend $500 if you wanted so the first thing is how much do you want to spend? Also it depends how you are going to fish for them if you are going to troll or cast. I cast alot so I would go with a 6.5 to 7 foot rod and a reel with a high gear ratio because when you are cranking them big muskie plugs you need to take in alot of line it just makes it easier on you.

ditto...lol...ive actually had a good go with my pete mania combo...its about 150ish thru bass pro...but it isnt the highest quality you can get...you can get alot better..its just weather you want to spend it. remember to leave some money for your lure arsenal...at 20 bucks a pop.....it can add up quicker then anything else.

looking at the price of that combo it looks like you do not want to spend a ton of money I was looking at that reel when I was at cabelas last it looks like a very good reel I know that the older garcia reel were very good because my bother had one on has rod. I would say that that set-up would do every thing you would need.

its not that i dont want to spen a lot of moooney its that i will only be fishing them for 2 weeks a year and rather spend the money on boat tackle. but if that looks ok i think i will try it.
hurry grab that rod.
