Since I have this pic I may as well share this killer pattern. My best colour combo is black/silver or red/silver.
These flies are killer in the spring when midges and mosquitoes are hatching (meant to imitate their larvae as they rise to the surface to hatch). They are best fished under a cork indicator somewhere near the bottom in less than 15 FOW (6-10 FOW ideal). But for those seeking extra challenge, try using a "greased" leader without the cork indicator. This method is much more difficult in that it is very hard to keep the fly at the right depth, but can be done with practice.

Hook: Tiemco 2457 size 12 or 14
Body: Black or red thread
Rib: Small silver
Thorax: Peacock herl or dub.
Bead: Gold or copper 3/32
Gills: White antron

Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it.
