2009 Maiden voyage on winni
« on: Apr 18, 2009, 03:34 PM »
Fired up the Lund last week, all seemed to work great.  My son Zach and I got to center harbor on winni this morning at 5:30 am, lines wet by 5:45-6:00.  All equipment worked great, no hiccups.  Had a great day, ended up with 8 Salmon, plus two missed.  3 of them over 19".  Two of them at 19" and one at 20".  Funnny though, the 19" were much healthier and outweighed the 20".  Kept one 20" and one 19".  Zach caught the two biggest ones.  What a way to start the season!!!

the small ones in the 12-20 inch range are in the rivers and stay all year. You can actually get lucky sometimes and catch them in the upper 20's but that is a rarity for most holdovers are smaller.

So if you are saying the stripers are running because you caught one you are incorrect. They are just starting to show up in the cape area now but mostly they are still south of this
