Fish Lake Reservoir
« on: Jul 14, 2010, 11:31 PM »
Hey guys, I'm from Indiana and I'm taking a trip up to the Duluth for a week fishing trip. We plan on Fish Lake Reservoir. Any body have a fishing report or recommendation for this lake. Just trying to find out whats biting and what lures we should stock up on.

Also any other lakes you guys recommend in this area I would appreciate.

Looking forward to spending a week fishing in Minnesota

would try for walleye useing half a crawler or leeches with a crappie hook and a splitshot as light as you can go in 8 to 12 foot of water might have to experiment with the depths.

Thanks for the response, are talking with a bobber or trolling?

you can troll rapalas and catch a few bigger ones but you will catch more eaters with with a slpbobber and a leech or crawler jus fish the reefs and humps.caught a limit of walleye, two nice perch and some really nice gills lastnight.

Well the trip was a success, we caught well over a 100 fish between fish lake and grand lake. Highlight of the trip was a 42" northern from fish lake. Thanks for the information

Thats what I hear, everyone at the bait stores said this is worst time of year and this has been a down year also. Well, if that is the case, that was better than my best fishing in Indiana and I can't image whats it like during a good year and good time of year. Thinking about coming back in October sometime or maybe next spring.

Had a blast the 1st time we are coming back 1st week in October. How's the fishing that time of year? Was trying for middle of september thinking that was the peak in the fall but couldnt make it happen. I'm sure it will be cold, looks like it should be aroung high of 60's and low in 30s

In July we were catching the bass and northern in about 5-6 feet of water in the bays where there was reeds, is it the same in october or do they move into deeper water?
