Nice Trapper. I must admit I have tied very few flies this winter. The good news is that I'm well stocked since I didn't get out all that much last year.

I bought some Mop Chenille after Christmas and I've been staring at it all winter, wondering what I can make out of it besides a mop fly.

Some large top water poppers for bass and pike. Foam saltwater bodies. Going out Sunday on the Yak for some paddling and casting off a bay in Lake Ontario.
Internet heros give it a rest!

Ordered some 200r n curve hooks for poppers and nymphs. 200 hooks….$20.

This is getting ridiculous.

Good thing they last me a while.
If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

New to fly tying and pending any more issues hopefully will be tying soon. Wondering where is a good place to get supplies and storage. Going to be tying at the dining room table. Everyone here is very talented at tying flies.

Inflation has certainly hit the fly- tying market. If you know any hunters, put out the word that you are looking for materials. Feathers from a single grouse kill will last you a very long time. My hunting friends supply me with vacuum packed deer tails every hunting season. With that said, I've been ordering what I need here and there from J Stockard Fly fishing supplies. Sign up for the e-mail blasts as they have some good sales on hooks and other materials from time to time.

Just one word of advice, don't cheap out on a fly- tying vise. Get one that that has a good rating and good hook holding ability. It will make your life easier.

Thank you, I know one hunter I will ask him for feathers if he shoots birds. Looking to get a Danica Danvise as that was recommended as a good first Vise.
