need transducer mounting bracket
« on: Dec 09, 2012, 08:24 PM »
I have a display model HB WP200 depth sounder that's never been mounted.
The transducer is also new, never unwrapped, but the unit came without
a transducer mounting bracket.
Does anyone know of a transom mounting bracket that might fit this
transducer that I might purchase?
Transducer is a puck 2  7/16” round by  1  3/16” thick with no provisions for mounting.
No ridges, screw holes, nothing, and it is perfectly round in shape.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks Bailey
Thought I might save some money by seeing if an existing transducer mount might be purchased rather than having one made custom.
Money is tight for this old-timer.
Best regards

Could be done on the cheap if you have a buddy or you yourself have a vice and simple hand tools. E bay i am sure would have parts they seem to have everything. Or look up the company website give em a call. I've made lots of my own parts and just a regular guy. My kicker steering arm is homemade. Self confidence and you can make anything.

problem is the puck is completely round with no mounting points or screw holes, etc.
I could make something using, perhaps, a stainless steel clamp but I have no idea how much
of the puck needs to be free of the clamp on the side, and how much needs to be below the
finished mounting bracket.
If I can't locate a workable existing bracket for a round transducer, then I'll have to make one myself.
Thanks for the prodding.

OK... just did a search for transducer mounting brackets using the "Image" filter and discovered 3 or 4 brackets for mounting round transducers to trolling motors. Highest reviews are for the Rig Rite Mfg. 300 trolling motor bracket (Amazon) for $15.05
I think I can fabricate the U shaped bracket that will mount this RigRite puck holder to the transom.
Thanks for you help and encouragement.
