I figured I should put up a thread for the Crooked River cause I'm there practically every other weekend. I've been twice now and the water is really high. Not a lot of fish hanging around (100 bridge).

Ok well I made the thread so I had better post in it. I was up on friday the 22nd for most of the morning. It was slow and i didn't get any rainbows. I got about 15 whitefish and my buddy Greg got about 5. The water is really high and as Summit lake just went off will probably stay the same until the first or second week of May.

Averaging about 20-25 whitefish an afternoon. They're wising up to my tricks. LOTS of bugs hatching doesn't really matter what you throw at them. Upstream of the bridge is still producing best but there are a couple rainbows in the pool now and then. Still too early for good rainbow fishing. Lots of squaws and suckers. Hard to fish a nymph in there because of them. Small stonefly patterns are best. Caddisflies are good too.

Bill Rushton was there last time we went. Kind of cool to meet the guy behind those awesome nets. It's been getting fished pretty hard but the fishin is still good so far. There's always the lurkers...

Got some pics. It's been good to us. I wish I could say where we are but it's my life on the line if I do. Here's a few shots:
Going up to the 100 bridge again tomorrow. I want to catch a pile of whities. I miss the dry-fly action
