Unfortunately I don't think so. Was a 26lber caught last Saturday and the oldtimer cut the gills. A few other 15-20lbers that are also not there to reproduce. Once they get much bigger than 10 I like to release. The little ones taste the best.

Another 33.2lb laker was caught. They keep getting bigger and the ice is getting thinner.

Looks like the fish size. Ice is very soft at Coo Coo now. Most are staying off as of yesterday.
Where you been Whisk?

I don't like the big lakes.......does that make me a bad person? Going out to Mackenzie lakes May 1st. Should be good.

No one bad here PGKris, just personal preferance. Big lakes can be harder to fish and get around if you have big waves. Fly guys also don't like the wind for casting. Big lakes however can produce BIG fish (not talking about the less than 10 lbers). The biggest I've caught in McKenzie was 6.5lbs rainbow but that was before you were born. Have not fished it lately but heard it was a good lake though.

I would kill to catch a 6 pounder out of there. That would be a nice surprise. They actually turned it into a "Trophy Lake" like Hart lake. No ice fishing and species quotas. At least the east lake is....not sure about the west although I've caught a couple nice 2 pounders out of the west lake. I'll let you know how we do.
