Shrooms
« on: Jul 02, 2021, 02:13 PM »
Had about 3 inches of rain in my area in the last four days mushrooms are Poppin. Stumbled across this nice chicken of the woods.

I fish for those "stupid fish" BASS. Largemouth Smallmouth Stripers, and even Rock bass.

found a neat shroom this morning.  as far as i can tell, from the book, its a tylopilus felleus(a bolete).  brought it home to ID it. a lot of boletes you can eat but it says this one is very bitter.  to bad would have made a nice grilling chunk!

bunch of chanterelle reports around here.  i lucked out and found some looking for chickens and oysters.  little old though.  also found a puffball that was yellow inside. many different kinds of shrooms popping up with this weather.  if its been cool and wet around you get out there!

i also seen something i never seen before today.  a few hundred buzzards setting on fence posts surrounding a cattle yard.  i read they take out the eyes of small calves and wait for them to die.  i dont think i would stand and watch them attack my cattle yard.  owners had to see them there.  it was 900am.  i wish i would have had my camera with me.
