New depth finder/Trolling motor
« on: Oct 30, 2021, 10:51 AM »
I'm in the market to purchase a new depth finder and a ultrex i-pilot link for my 1600
lund explorer. I will have to get a new depth finder because presently I have lowrance and the
I-pilot link requires a humminbird. ( is link worth it )if so I'm looking at the helix 10 chirp with msi + gps g4n. One
of my Questions is, Im assuming the helix comes with a msi/mega down imaging transducer. The ultrex also
has a option of msi built into the transducer if purchased that way, do I use the trolling
motor as my transducer or the depth finder transducer. what do you guys use ? I understand
the trolling motor must be in the water for use. I would think it would to more useful to
use the transducer on the boat and simply purchase a univeral sonar. Unless msi and
mega down imaging dont comes together on a boat mounted transducer? Thanks for any help!
