Thank God someone had the good sense to shoot this down. The 62 Aye votes going into this has me shaking my head. :-\

I am totally amazed Kathy Hochul did something sensible. I guess even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes.

Yeah, I was a bit puzzled by the 62 aye votes. Figured it was a done deal at that point. There has to be more to this story behind the curtain. The fact that the queen vetoed it tells me something more going on.
Well good news either way!

She was the “moron’s” lieutenant. All of a sudden everything is ok?

She’s probably gonna be the next governor. The legacy lives on.
If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Maybe she likes fishing? Or understands how and why the outdoorsmen vote. Good move for her, but yes time will tell....

I am completely shocked that it got vetoed.

It gives me a tiny bit of faith that our voice is actually heard occasionally.

I guess we should all be checking what bills are in the hopper to see what else might be getting the fastrack through…

I tried to read the bill.  It seemed so poorly worded that it was not meaningful and probably unenforceable.  Maybe it was just a "feel good" proposal.  Maybe it was intended to send a message to the DEC.  On the other hand, I do not know if/how a veto can be overturned by the legislature in NY.
