If you're pulling crankbaits...
Rig your reels up with leadcore... just my .02

Do you have riggers, dipsy divers, or planer boards? Rod holders? Trolling rods? Years ago in my little tin can I ran spinning reels and had no rod holders. The recommendation for each rod would be different depending on what you got. You can get away with minimal equipment if that's all you have. But if your new. Tell us what you got and we can guide you better.

By no means I'm I an Oneida expert (fish Lake Erie mostly), but we spent a week there last year and fished different techniques.  The most productive was bottom bouncing either drifting (letting the minn kota trolling motor steer) or if it was calm, going about 1.2-1.5 with the trolling motor.  We ended up using the perch rigs to bottom bounce with.  5'6" light poles, 6lb seaguar floro,  3/4oz weight.

I fish Oneida often , for trolling  , I run 2 lead lines with a 15’ leader and 2 lines with snap weights off planer boards , bottom bouncing with spinner and worm is also an option , riggers aren’t a must
Far as line for the most part Oneida eyes aren't line shy ,
Speeds vary for different applications ,
And water temp just my .02

I run a similiar program to Fred. 2 lead core poles and 2 poles either running snap weights or big cranks off boards. I mostly run 10 lb. mono on those poles. Fireline will get you a bit more depth, I sometimes run 10 lb. FL with a 10' leader of flouro too.

Some good big cranks are walleye bandits and reef runners.

I run 4 dispy rods with 40 pound braid and 8-10' leaders  8# fluoro. I run 7J rapalas quite a bit and once dialed in on fish it's a matter of repeating the program through the schools. Not a fan of trolling but when they school up in the channel it works.

I believe I'm going with 8# test magna thin main line and will adjust my precision trolling app depth by 2 feet
on summer vacation and when on vacation in sept. go with 10# fireline. summer I like to pull worm harness
fall I'll try crankbaits

The lines in the precision trolling app are perfect for Oneida. If you think you need to go lighter just leader down. But 10# fluoro leader works fine for me on all my Oneida trolling rods. Leadcore, fireline and XT.

Plus you never know when a huge Cat or sheep want to bite...
The braid can be tough on planer board releases too...
