Retirement Date Set
« on: Jan 29, 2022, 05:44 PM »
I turned in my official notice this past week.
Donna's last day will be June 30th.
My official last day will be 11/18/22.
But I will have a ton of vacation time left over, so I'll really be leaving in mid October.
We are scheduled for the RV park in Florida for November 1st, so this works out well.
We are selling the lake place and I already have a few couples interested.
I am hoping it sells quickly.
Jeff is buying the house in a few months, but we will continue to live here until we leave in mid to late October.
We will take the motorhome down there in April for a nice little 2 week vacation.
During that time, we will set up bank accounts, doctor, lawyer, PO box, etc.
We will leave the motorhome down there in the RV park.
It's only $40/mo to do this.
In the fall we will take both vehicles down and I will tow a Uhaul trailer with the little belongings we are taking down there with us.
For the most part - we aren't taking a lot down there.
Only clothing and personal items.
When we return in November we will stay in the motorhome while looking for a permanent place to live.
The motorhome will also work well if we need to do any work to the place before we move in.
You know - flooring, painting, etc.

Sounds like a great plan Mac. Congratulations!

I love being retired!
If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
