muskie feaver!!
« on: Aug 22, 2005, 09:46 AM »
i just caught my first musky a couple weeks a go.  a 37 incher, not a monster but a descent fish.  Now i've got musky fever!!  I am going again this weekend.  i was just wondering what colors and baits work good on a murky lake?  it is late august so where will the fish be shallow or deep?  also will they be taking large baits yet?
Any information will be greatly appreciated         Thanks a bunch

A lot of fish will suspend in deep water this time of year, especially if the water is well above 70 degrees like it is where I am. Try deep diving crankbaits that match the available forage (or brighter colors if really murky) in lengths from 6-10 inches. Fish can also be shallow, here try bucktails or spinner baits with color combos with chartreuse in the mix.

Muskie only come easy to those fishing for something else!

Good luck.
