Buying a 15 hp outboard |

Buckski:
Looking to get a new 15 hp motor and was looking at a few. I leaning towards a Mercury or Yamaha 4 stroke with a long shaft. I know guys have their personal preferences but looking for people who own the products and why they purchased these and how do they like them or not? Pros & Cons. |
fish/hunt4ever:
Went with Mercury on all my outboards for the last 2 boats, like the warranty that they have and availability of parts and ease to work on them. Right now I have a 174 Pro XS and a 9.9 pro kicker EFI. The last ones I had were a 90 Optimax, the thing was remembering the to fill the oil reservoir, and a 6hp kicker. I would say the electric start and EFI are the way to go, easy start. Right now I see Mercury is doing a couple more years of warranty so you get 5 years now. |

Mercury has recently developed a processor-enhanced line of outboards |
