Started out with a PB open water numbers day for January today. Fished several spots with success. I have this rhyme thing in my head.
The month has just started and they warn of a storm,
But what I knew for sure was that it got a bit warm.
The degrees they numbered just over 20,
But I had a hunch to get them biting it would be plenty.
When it came to the gamefish, they were a slammin'
There were brookies, a brown, and even some salmon.
They hit Yozuri's, Trout Magnets, pretty much all I could try,
I even caught 6 on a beadheaded fly.
Although guide ice and such gave me some trouble,
I was able catch well into digits of double.
I was visited at 1 spot by a raucous woody,
Jim C. shouldn't have this much fun, or should he? ;D

Leaner times lie ahead, but what a day 8)

Wow! Well done, Jim! ;D

Wow, nice variety for january! I've had luck with early january salmon and brookies in years past but browns can be tricky, very cool Jim.
The "bomb cyclone" storm we just had the other day got me wondering what the rapid pressure change would do to the trout fishing.

Wow! Way to start the year and keeping the streak going!

Dedicated is an under statement for you Jim. I'll bet your rod guides needed a little TLC several times. ;D

Thanks, Bob. My wife has several descriptions besides "dedicated". ;D

Jim, I hadn’t checked in here in a while. I had a hunch you made it out. You are still getting some great fish . Congrats on keeping the streak alive.
