Irondequoit Bay Launch
« on: Sep 17, 2020, 09:34 AM »
I heard on another forum that the launch was closed at the north end of I Bay so I drove over there to see for myself.
Not only is the launch closed but the entire length of the parking area is closed and an Irondequoit police car was there probably making sure non of us criminal fishermen try to sneak in.  I drove around the entire bay and asked if I could launch my 12’ winter boat.  The only place that said yes was Mayer’s marina at the north east end - at a cost of $10.  Apparently, they are raising the parking lot two feet and putting in a new launch. I doubt they will even be open for the spring perch.  Thank you Mike Seely and the town of Irondequoit.

There’s still the old county launch at the south end if the water isn’t too low. I launched there for many years.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

There is a small area just south of sutters but the water looked very low. I also do not trust parking in that area. Just me, but I would rather feel more secure.

Yeah, there too!   Certainly a lot closer to home.  Need to spend some time and figure them out over there.

If you go to Sodus the new dock at the public launch on RT 14t is almost 4ft above the water.
