Fun in the Sun.
« on: May 11, 2022, 11:07 AM »
Took the Lund a little east of home for a quick 1.5 day trip.  Was a good time for sure.

Big eyes were 4.5 and 5.77.  2 cats went 6.6 and 8.8lbs.  The carp was 36 b4 the scale bottomed out with 1/3 of the fish still on the floor.

Blades and small plastics with the biggest fish caught on 1/8 jigheads and 2" tails.

NO bait was harmed on this trip.

Thx it is good to be old and retired!  We  fished 8 hrs each day. In addition, the 2 of us caught also like 50 white bass to 17", a 18" LMB, numerous smaller craps and walleye. Got around 15 drum to 4 lbs.  Missed numerous chances. Saw gars swimming around the boat.  It was an amazing couple hundred dollar trip! :D

Thanks for sharing. That catch looks like it came from Lake Erie if I didn't know better.

So the Carp turns out to be a "Smallmouth Buffalo".. Kansas state record is 47lbs.  This one woulda been close!
