I use a light bottom bouncer with a spinner and piece of crawler or small minnow. When I catch a nice Perch I drop the anchors and use slip floats.

so you just troll to find them?
Look for clouds on your fishfinder. Thats where the honey is. The school up and you just bounce through them.

I usually find perch while trolling for walleyes. If I catch a nice sized perch I will anchor and fish for them. When I have my perch I will go back to trolling live bait or cranks for eyes. The biggest perch I have caught was taken on a 1/4 oz jig and a 4" fathead minnow while drifting for eyes. It was 15 3/4" and weighed 2.6 lbs. We cleaned 7 proud angler perch that afternoon. My son and I have been anchored 150' from people catching 12" dink walleyes and throwing them back while we caught our limits of 12 to 14" perch.
