Hey die hards when is the best time to visit the walleye hatchery on onieda. Would like to visit when it is in full operation, thanks in advance.

It depends on when the ice goes out.

Keep an eye on this thread and we will let everyone know when it gets closer.

Probably around 2 weeks from now.

Looks like the ice on Oneida will go out today once the winds increases.  I see patches of open water on all of the web cams and a big open spot on the North Shore Cam.  The ice will be piling up at Sylvan Beach soon.

Oh don’t worry. I still have 3 eyes to clean from yesterday morning caught out of the boat. 

I think I’ll give the eyes a break until May now.

But those perch are not safe...
