« on: Mar 11, 2009, 07:02 PM »
Just wondering if anyone fishes the Muskegon piers. This is the first year I'm trying it.

If anyone ever makes it out there let me know and maybe I can meet ya down there, if you don't mind company that is!

There are a few hardy souls on the South arm today. The Lake was flat.
Seen a couple of fish caught yesterday.
The North pier showed some life a few days ago.
Spawn is the bait choice right now.
Be careful of the leftover ice. The water splashes up a refreezes on the break waters this time of year.
A slip would make for a nasty day.
The South arm is the easiest to fish. The North arm is more "mountain goat" territory and a 1/4 mile walk to reach it.
The surf is beginning to be ice free. There were large rafts of small ice chunks floating in the water.

I'm not able to fish again for a couple of days.
Stop out on the pier and eyeball what's going on. That is the best way.

The reason we're all here, is 'cause we ain't all there.
