A few things to say / ask
« on: Apr 27, 2011, 08:43 PM »
Started catching stockies (rainbows & brookies) out here in W.Mass, floating pb on the bottom in lakes, worms in the brooks. River still seems too high/fast.
Thinking out renting a boat at the Quabbin with a buddy this weekend in hopes of catching up with some lakers or salmon before they get too deep. Who thinks I've got a chance with regular lake gear? Weather/wind permitting..
Would shore fishing at Wachusett be a better idea?
Anyone out in W.Mass been or thinking about doing some shad fishing in the Connecticut yet?
Any comments and or answers are appreciated.

Yes you can get lakers this time of year with out lead core or down riggers. You can troll with different divers or fish live bait or even casting (in the past I have done very well with casting Little Georges). If I was going to fish from shore I would still hit Quabbin, before Wattusett, lots of fish and few people! From shore I like to walk into spots with deep points and after I am done Laker fishing I switch to bass on the inside of the points! Good Luck!
