Got skunked at the Quabbin again on Saturday morning. Rented a boat out of gate 8 hoping to get some lakers or salmon before the water gets too warm. Is it already? Spent the morning there with my cousin and buddy who were also skunked. By the end of the Quabbin trip we were all saying I would settle for a break off at this point, or I don't care if I get one, I just want to see anyone of us land one. In the end we had 1 average LMB and 1 average SMB.
We left there thinking we would take out our ultralights and hit the Swift for a little trout redemption, but we got skunked there too! Could see a few fish swimming but they weren't interested. Had probably been hammered all morning. Decided to catch a buzz instead and stop by the Conn. and see if the shad were hitting at dusk. All we caught was a buzz. Good day, all we needed was some fish.
Finally, what the heck is so impossible about the Quabbin? Anyone had any ideas?
