It's funny you guys mentioned the pole anchor. I was searching them last weekend and the least expensive one I found was a 6' fiberglass pole only, no holster,  $60. I have a 10 footer of 1" copper pipe that fits in the scupper hole pretty good. Just have to clip it of on the side somewhere. I like the collapsible golf pole idea though, May just go that route and store in behind the seat area, thanks.

i bought a 6" pole anchor, and let me tell u it, i think its a game changer in a yak
A)  gives you a second anchor if you also carry like a small mushroom or danforth anchor
B) also can be used as lure retriever
C) use it to mark spots
D)clips on to side of kayak out of the way and weighs nothing
E) much better control in wind or current the tying off rope to traditional anchor...i usually use pole anchor and only a couple feet of line to the yak so i stay close to the pole and dont drift or spin much
