Pre spawn smallies

These guys were chunky, but looked like they were at least a couple weeks away. The weather guys said it was going to be very windy on Sunday, and it sure was, but found a protected piece of shoreline. I ended up with three, and my buddy got a couple nice ones also, lost quite a few too. Clown and blue herring colored suspending jerks and white double Colorada blade spinnerbait. We only stayed for a few hours until my fingers froze and they wouldn't work. I haven't seen a largemouth in over three weeks, but I prefer the smallies, they put up a nice fight and show.

Nice looking Bronzebacks! I think I prefer catching them more then any other freshwater fish.

I think I would agree, its tough to compare to reeling in a carp. But bass fishing is more active so it can be more fun. smallies hit so hard tho

Thanks for the good words gentlemen. If only I could do that at the Chu this weekend, I would be a happy angler!
