2/1 Mooching reel....
« on: Mar 09, 2021, 04:18 PM »
Mooching reels are my #1 choice for lead core and salmon fishing. But I have had nothing but issues with my Diawas over the years. This looks like a great option and with a 2/1 gear.... :thumbup_smilie:...All was good until I saw the price  :'( Ol Joe better send a 3ed round of checks  :-\

I mean you can almost buy two if you use all your Stimmy on it...and then throw down another hundo or so!

I'm not super familiar with mooching reels, but I did find this: https://www.peetzoutdoors.com/collections/fishing-reels
They are also a Canadian company with a lifetime warranty on their reels, and while most of their reels are intricately carved wood, they do have a 5" machined SS for under half the price of that one you posted. I kinda want to buy one of those wooden ones for how gorgeous they look.

I may try one. Actually Shimano is one of my favorite reel makers in the 130s. Are they much better then the Diawa's?
