Match the fish!
« on: Apr 04, 2004, 09:58 PM »
These smallies were caught by two different people a couple years ago.  My wife and myself.  They were the only two caught that day.  It also happened to be the first time bass fishing for my wife!

See if you can guess who caught which fish?!?!  ???  ::)

If your luck is anything like mine then she caught the bigger one.

I'm sure your wife caught the bigger one but what I want to know, is that a Bass-O-Matic in the background?

Since I have  been in the same situation, I have to vote for the wife also.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Livin4ice - she took the photo!  I am completely at her mercy on this one!  ::)  Bass-o-matic, I like it!  Not sure how good the flavor would be in my morning cup of joe though.  That is a Mr. Coffee!

Of course, if you want to hear the real story, we were actually salmon fishing in a lake that is managed for landlock salmon and brook trout.  The state record for each of these fish was caught there.  It is also an excellent bass fishery.  My wife was bored with trolling (the salmon weren't hitting at all) so I gave her a cast master to play with.  Second cast or so and I noticed that she was awfully quiet in the back of the boat.  I turned to look to see what she was doing, thinking she was snagged on the bottom and didn't dare speak up.  Instead, she is in the tussle of her life with the bigger of the two bass!  Not bad for her first bass.

I got jealous and put on a flatfish.  I said that this lure always gets big lunkers.  Tossed it out to a dock and halfway on the retrieve the lure exploded just under the surface.  Thought we had one even bigger than hers until I saw it.  Unfortunately, I couldn't get it off the hooks and back into the water without her seeing it and of course she wanted to keep it for photographic evidence!
