Hey broken rod, I know you are kidding, but this has actually become a serious problem. I knew a guy who threw all of his catfish on the bank to try to rid the water of them. He said he was tired of catching them. I replied, don't use live bait; you very seldom catch a cat on a lure. Anyway, the area became a giant bone yard that smelled like a garbage dump. The Platte river by my house has literally tons of suckers. you will never be able to catch them all and throw them on the bank.

when do they start their runs?  I like any kind of fight and think that my garden could use a little fertilizer.  What do you use for bait?  Worms? got plenty of those

They make great fertilizer, and they take nightcrawlers, grubs, stinkbait, you name it. I have never caught one on a lure. Throw it out on a river rig with a sliding egg sinker and a bead and you will get one. they really are the Hoovers of the river.

Hmm....some recipes for suckers.

Well, find a good, stout bridge and if you can find a good, healthy sucker you may be able to sell that bridge to them.
